Southbank Centre’s Meltdown festival is famed for bringing to life the world of its director. This year the multi-award winning musician David Byrne, known for his eclectic collaborations and as a co-founder of the seminal new-wave band Talking Heads curates the festival, offering fans unique insight into artists and ideas that influence and inspire Byrne today.
In 2015, its 22nd year, Meltdown spans a range of musical genres, from afro-funk to flamenco, spoken word to second-line – it also stretches beyond the musical realm into dance and theatre, with one production featuring Byrne himself.
“I am beyond excited at how much of this has fallen into place. It’s quite eclectic and I hope there are some new discoveries for everyone – including me – in this edition of the festival’ – David Byrne.
