It seems MH370 was hijacked

UPDATE! Malaysia is reportedly investigating a theory that flight MH370 could have slipped under Pakistani radars and landed a Taliban base close to the Afghan border. The pilots’ possible role in the plane’s disappearance is also being examined.

The Malaysian government is holding a news conference in the coming hours. The news conference may or may not have something to do with media reports of an unnamed Malaysian official saying it is “conclusive” that MH370 was hijacked and deliberately steered off course. There is no official confirmation, nor is there an official denial of these reports.

Investigators have concluded that one or more people with significant flying experience hijacked the missing Malaysia Airlines jet, switched off communication devices and steered it off-course, a Malaysian government official involved in the investigation said Saturday.

A recap on what we know about MH370. The Boeing 777 was travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board when it went missing on March 8 2014. There are 57 ships and 48 aircraft looking for it. The search area covers the South China Sea, the Andaman Sea, the Malacca Strait and the Indian Ocean.
