In this photo from an anti-nazi protest in Malmö, Sweden you will notice that everybody is wearing Adidas shoes. Adidas was formerly known as the Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik (Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory). Both Dassler brothers, Adolf and Rudolf, were members of the German nazi party and supplied shoes to the German soldiers during World War II. On the other hand, Jesse Owens also won his four gold medals in Berlin in 1936 wearing Adidas.

The brothers eventually parted and became into two competing global shoe behemoths: Adidas and Puma.

UPDATE! Not everybody wore Adidas shoes, though! The sign says: ‘Ordinary people are also against nazis’.
