Soon, you can test drive this new high speed train in Japan

Central Japan Railway Co. (JR Tokai) will hold events in which participants can ride on the new high-speed magnetic levitation bullet train on a 42.8-kilometer track in Yamanashi Prefecture.

The maglev train, which runs at a maximum speed of 500 kph, is scheduled to open on the Linear Chuo Shinkansen line in 2027.

The rides will be held over several days on weekdays in November and December this year and March next year. The maglev train will run two or three times each day.

JR Tokai will accept applications for the rides via its website. The participation fee will be around ¥2,500 per person.
