Japanese ballet students honored by prime minister

Message from Prime Minister Shinzo Abe:

The younger generation is enjoying great success internationally in the arts, sports, and various other fields. Two of those who have achieved success are Mr. Haruo Niyama, who took first place in the Prix de Lausanne, an international ballet competition, in February, and Ms. Sae Maeda, who placed second.

Mr. Niyama struck a marvelous pose at the request of the cameraman.

These two have taken lessons for long hours every day without fail. I look forward to them becoming artists who capture the hearts of people around the world.
