Japanese prime minister visits Anne Frank House in Amsterdam

Message from Prime Minister Shinzo Abe:

I am visiting the Netherlands in order to attend the Nuclear Security Summit.

I visited the Secret Annex in which Anne Frank, author of The Diary of Anne Frank, and her family spent two years until they were sent to concentration camps.

Thinking of the life of this young girl who never gave up on her dreams despite her horrible environment, I renewed my determination that the 21st century must be made into a century of peace, and that I will make contributions to help bring that about.
