Let the women do the voting – the men don’t know how to vote anyway

election

By Fredrik Virtanen, Aftonbladet

The world would be more beautiful if men were deprived of voting rights. We don’t have a clue anyway. [The Nationalist] Sweden Democrats would then not get into parliament, the Red-Greens would get 58 percent and the Conservative Alliance only 37 per cent, according to statistics in Sweden.

In general, women are left, men are right.

Probably because women are more conscious of oppression. A woman can easily identify with immigrants, the poor and the vulnerable. Women know how it is.

Men have bigger problems with solidarity because we had it easier. We do not realize our privileges. We get offended if someone corrects us.

We like being so nice! We work hard to take care of the family. We do the dishes [do you really?, ed]. We build stuff. We change diapers. And it ‘s true, there’s nothing wrong with men, on the contrary. You guys kick ass. Men are great.

But.

Yet, despite all of our excellence, the fact is that men face major problems in society. It is we who sit in jail, we drink too much, it is we who are violent, we are the ones that do not go on parental leave, it is we who are doing all the killing, it is we who are the excluded, it is we who have the poorer education.

And we are voting for right-wing parties, cementing problems, even on the extreme right-wing parties. SD has its strongest party sympathies, 14.8 percent of men between 18 and 24.

Not a single anti-feminist or nationalist party had reached the same power if women were to choose. That is an amazing thought. Just imagine.

Left wing commentator Göran Greider wrote in ETC this week that a vote for the Feminist Initiative, even though he agrees with everything Fi stands for, is a wasted vote that affects the red-green, favors the Conservative Alliance and foremost Fi’s opposite party SD when Fi does not reach the four percent threshold to parliament. Which is true.

Party leader Gudrun Schyman said that women have always been told that they should wait and it must be the end of it. Which is also true. Tough question.

It was then that my modest proposal struck me. The solution.

Sounds crazy, undemocratic, to take away the right to vote from men? Sure! But no more crazy or undemocratic than women until 1921 lacked equal rights.

So it would be historically fair if men had to skip a couple of elections (two elections are just right, then matriarchy would probably be just as power-drunk as all patriarchy been). In a single stroke, the country would be much more cohesive, fine and healthy.

Women are wiser than men, shows a party preference polls. The country would be better for everyone, including the men – that’s the beauty of it. Already on election day guys will be able to go to football or to the park with the kids instead of a dull polling station.

Lots of demands on men would be lifted from our shoulders in an equal society. But we do not understand. We do not understand what is best for our own good. That’s why a court decision should unpower us.
