Earlier this month, Sigur Rós gave us a sneak peek of their cover of “The Rains of Castamere” for Game of Thrones. Now, the full version of the traditional Westeros folk song has finally been unveiled. The Icelandic outfit’s haunting and foreboding take is streaming below and is available for sale over at Amazon. It’s definitely not the Game of Thrones’ hip-hop mixtape.
“The Rains of Castamere” was originally written by George R.R. Martin and famously soundtracked last season’s “Red Wedding” episode. The National previously offered up their own rendition for an episode in the series’ second season.
