Nuclear weapons are the most dangerous weapons on earth. Just one can kill millions, and jeopardize the environment and the lives of future generations. Yet possibly as many as 17,000 remain in our world today.

“Nuclear disarmament is therefore not an idealistic dream, but an urgent necessity to meet the genuine security interests of all humanity,” said Ban Ki-moon.
