The Chinese locals, here in Guangzhou in Southern China, call this district “Chocolate City”. Prejudices still run deep here, where for hundreds of years, most of the residents would never have had the chance to see someone with darker skin than themselves. Behind the smiles shared on the streets, the integration of new cultures here in the neighbourhood is not so far gone smoothly.
