Concern is growing in Germany over the country’s automotive industry, one of the key sectors of the German economy.
The VW group — Europe’s biggest carmaker — has reported a third-quarter loss of more than a billion euros. Volkswagen’s numbers come just a day after rival Mercedes announced a sharp drop in profits. The VW group also includes its premium brand Porsche. Porsche’s profits have plunged by 95% so far this year.
