NATO turns 65, continues eastward expansion

NATO is continuing to shape global politics 65 years after the alliance was formed on April 4, 1949 in Washingon, DC. Originally intended as a collective defense organization of western European nations and the United States, the alliance has grown and pushed east into what was once the Soviet Union. Having engaged in offensive operations including Bosnia, Serbia and Libya, many argue the alliance is now about much more than mere collective defense. RT’s Anastasia Churkina reports on how the role of NATO in the world has changed from 65 years ago.
